This study aimed to analyze the numeracy literacy skills of Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students at Campus V Parepare in solving contextual mathematical problems. Numeracy literacy is an essential competency for prospective elementary school teachers, as it supports their ability to interpret, apply, and communicate mathematical concepts in everyday contexts. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach involving PGSD students from a selected semester. Data were collected through a numeracy literacy test consisting of contextual problem-solving tasks and were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings showed that the numeracy literacy skills of PGSD students were at a moderate level, with an average score of 68.25. The results also indicated significant differences in students’ numeracy literacy skills based on ability categories, particularly in mathematical reasoning and contextual problem-solving. Students experienced difficulties in interpreting contextual information, selecting appropriate mathematical strategies, and providing logical solutions to problems. In conclusion, PGSD students’ numeracy literacy skills still need improvement, especially in higher-order thinking and contextual problem-solving abilities. Therefore, integrating numeracy literacy into mathematics instruction through problem-based learning and HOTS-oriented activities is important to strengthen students’ competencies as prospective elementary school teachers. The research contributed to the development of more effective, contextual, and oriented mathematics learning to strengthen the numeracy skills of prospective elementary school teachers.
