Peer Review Policy

Larik: Journal of Language, Literature, and Cultural Studies applies a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the academic quality, originality, and relevance of all published articles.

Type of Peer Review

The journal implements a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors’ and reviewers’ identities are concealed to ensure impartial and objective evaluation.

Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to assess:

  • Alignment with the journal’s aims and scope

  • Compliance with submission guidelines and ethical standards

  • Originality and academic quality

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.

Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and contribution to the field

  • Theoretical framework and methodological rigor

  • Clarity, coherence, and academic writing quality

  • Relevance to current scholarly debates

Reviewers provide constructive feedback and recommendations to support editorial decisions.

Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ reports, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

  • Reject

The editorial decision is communicated to the corresponding author along with anonymized reviewer comments.

Revision Process

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in accordance with reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version within the specified timeframe. A response-to-reviewers document may be requested.

Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential. Reviewers must not disclose or use unpublished material for personal or professional advantage.

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Individuals with conflicts of interest are excluded from the review process for the affected manuscript.

Timeliness

The journal strives to complete the peer review process in a timely manner. Reviewers are expected to submit their evaluations within the agreed review period.

Ethical Oversight

Any ethical concerns identified during the review process, including plagiarism or data manipulation, will be handled in accordance with the journal’s ethical policies and COPE guidelines.
