Publishing Process

Larik: Journal of Language, Literature, and Cultural Studies applies a transparent, structured, and rigorous publishing process to ensure the quality, integrity, and credibility of all published articles. The process follows international best practices in scholarly publishing and editorial management.

Overview of the Publishing Process

The publication process in Larik consists of several sequential stages, from manuscript submission to final publication. Each stage is designed to ensure academic quality, ethical compliance, and editorial transparency.

Stages of the Publishing Process

  1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system (OJS). All required metadata, manuscript files, and supplementary documents must be completed.

  2. Initial Editorial Screening (Desk Review)
The editorial team evaluates the manuscript to ensure:

    • Alignment with the journal’s focus and scope

    • Compliance with submission guidelines

    • Basic academic quality and structure

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage.

  3. Plagiarism Check
Manuscripts that pass the desk review are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity levels will be rejected or returned to authors for revision.

  4. Peer Review
Eligible manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers using a double-blind peer review process.

  5. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor makes one of the following decisions:

    • Accept

    • Minor revision

    • Major revision

    • Reject

  6. Revision by Authors
Authors revise the manuscript according to reviewers’ and editors’ comments and submit the revised version within the specified timeframe.

  7. Final Evaluation and Acceptance
The editor evaluates the revised manuscript. If necessary, it may be sent back to reviewers. Once all requirements are fulfilled, the manuscript is accepted for publication.

  8. Copyediting and Layout Editing
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting to improve clarity, consistency, and formatting, followed by layout editing for publication readiness.

  9. Proofreading
Authors review the final proof to correct minor errors before publication.

  10. Online Publication
The final article is published online and made openly accessible according to the journal’s open-access policy.

Transparency and Integrity

Throughout the publishing process, Larik ensures transparency, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical publishing standards in accordance with COPE guidelines.
